About Calido We are currently working towards becoming an established social enterprise and aim to become a Community Interest Company (CIC) by February 2013, enabling us to reinvest our profits back into the local community. Carole Smyth, the Director of the company qualified as an OT over 30 years ago, starting in mental health and then in a local authority setting. Through Calido, she has been able to extend her skills and knowledge base through working in a wide range of services including Adults in a social services role, disabled facility grants, decent homes contracts, special needs housing, manual handling. She also has experience in working with children within social services, health and education. Carole set up the company initially to provide a more flexible approach, giving a more responsive service to her clients and carers. By offering visits on evenings and weekends, it was also beneficial to her staff to fit this work around their lifestyle. By using a pool of both employed and freelance staff, working from 4 – 26 hours per week, Calido has been able to successfully address the requirements of large and small scale contracts. Most of our staff only work with one organisation at a time. We are also very proud to say that over 50% of our staff group have been with us for more than 10 years. Mission Statement Our Values Calido is dedicated to ensure the enhancement of choice and opportunity for independent and dignified living; and the highest quality of service delivery. Our Vision Our Social Mission As a social enterprise our team has the opportunity to explore partnerships with new stakeholders and to potentially provide additional services to fit the needs of the local community. Our service users can be assured of value for money and that we reinvest back to the local community any financial surpluses we generate. |
